I started playing pool at the early age of 13 and when I first started to play it gave me motivation and desire to overcome the challenges that were just put in front of me. I had just suffered a very serious injury to my hand and fingers by getting my hand completely crushed by a backhoe. Multiple doctors told me that I would either lose
my fingers or possibly my hand and if I didn't lose it I would not have any movement or feeling in my hand. After suffering from this accident and while I refused to give up even know I was struggling with my hand therapy sessions and I started casting doubt in myself by thinking "maybe all these doctors were right", Until the day I walked into my parents restaurant and bar and observed people playing pool. I was memorized by the game and wanted to play so bad but I was nervous and scared to death that people would make fun of me because I didn't know how to play and didn't have movement in both of my hands to properly hold the cue. Little did I know at that moment was about to get my courage and confidence back because I started to regain feeling in my fingers and started to regain my movement back in my hand slowly but surely. Now my therapy sessions included pool in them and pool is what brought my hand back to somewhat normal usage !!!!
