Dashboard - Venues and tables

Without venues you will not get started with livescoring and the use of stream overlays, so lets dig into it.

Why do you need venues?

Venues are essential to make use of scoreboards and scoreboard overlays for streaming, as these are connected to the tables at the venue. Venues tell your participants where to play. It will tell your players where the venue is geographically, and once there, tell them which table to play at. You assign each venue a list of billiard tables that can be assigned to matches in the tournament schedule.

The venue page lists all the venues you have created, most users need only one, and the venues other Pro users have shared with you.

How to create a venue and its tables?

To create a venue press the Create button on the Venue page and type in the venue name in the dialogue box and then press Create in the same box. You now get the option to add some info to the venue, which is essential. Extra information can be added in the tabs Venue (Default) - Billiard tables - Images - Access

Contact information

First, type in the contact information. Its essential information for players who are not familiar with the place.
When added press Save.

Billiard tables tab

Adding tables might be some of the most important thing you do. It gives you the option to plan matches on tables, use scoreboard and streaming functionality, and lets the player know at what table he/she will play the upcoming matches.

In the tables list below, you find three important links:

  1. Livescore per table in detail view, aka Jumbotron
  2. Scoreboard code
  3. Stream graphics

Behind the venue's name you find the link to the public Venue page, example here.

Create tables

Press Create and follow the instructions, starting with setting the table number and Create. On the next page, make sure you add the maufaturer and model (or make something up if you don't know) and most importantly, select the Branch and Size. Fill in the rest of the information if you have it available, but its not mandatory.

!!! Only tables with the same branch set as you have in the tournament settings will be shown in the tournament admin.

Note that you have a copy function to make it easier to add multiple tables of the same type on the Billiard tables tab. See picture above.

In the bottom part, you can see the tables Access code (for scoreboard setup), with an option to reset it.
Some users also want to reset the scorebaord code for every match (e.g if they share it with the players sop they can keep score via their phone).

Images tab

On this tab you can upload the venue logo/profile image. More options will most probably be added here in the future. :-)

Access tab

On the access tab you can share access to the venue with other Pro accounts. It comes in handy if a big tournaments is run at two different venues, or if you and other Pro users manage tournaments in the same venue.

Press Add ans search for the Pro's name that you want to share access with. Press X button to remove access.
