BRAINTREE TOWN POOL LEAGUE
LEAGUE RULES
1. POOL RULES: We play the official International rules 8 ball pool rules (IR RULES) as published by the International Eightball Pool Association and as endorsed by the ENGLISH POOL ASSOCIATION.

2. SIGNING ON FORMS: To be returned prior to or on the first match of the league season. Additional players can be signed on later, up to a MAXIMUM of 10 players in any one team. A player MUST be signed onto the teams ‘Signing on Form’ before playing in a match, failure to do so will result in the games in which they participated being awarded to the opposing team.

3. POINT SYSTEM: 1 point will be awarded for EACH frame won. IF at the end of the season teams are ‘tied’ then the CueScore website (Where league information is registered) will determine the final league positions.

4. MATCH FORMAT: The Matches will consist of 5 sets.
Set 1: Two Scotch doubles, in which players can play in one of the doubles frames. (Home Team to pick first)
Set 2: Four singles, in which players can only play in one frame (Away team to pick first).
Set 3: Four singles, in which players can only play in one frame (Home team to pick first)
Set 4: Four singles, in which players can only play in one frame (Away team to pick first)
Set 5: Two Scotch doubles and a Scotch team 4man, in which players can play in one of the doubles frames and the team 4man (Home team to pick first).

Players can only play once in EACH set of 4 singles and Breaks are as shown on the Match Sheet.

5. RESULT SHEETS: It is the responsibility of the winning team to send an image of the Sheet to the Captains group on Messenger and then give to Luke Nash or the Bar Staff following the match. Failure to do so will mean NO points / frame wins will be awarded for the win. Ensure that your players names are PRINTED clearly.

6. SUBSCRIPTIONS: Each player to pay a £5.00 entry fee at the start of the first league match at the beginning of the season. Non-payment at this stage, will result in that player NOT being allowed to enter for a team. A FULL list of players will also need to be supplied at this time, up to a maximum of 10 players.

7. COMPETITIONS: There will be a Singles and Doubles competition which will be played on Tuesday nights, sometime during the league season 7:30 or 8.00pm start. The top 16 Players in the rankings on FRAMES WON over the league season will be invited to the Braintree League masters event at an extra cost of £5. Anyone that does not want entry the next person on the list will be invited. Played at the end of the season with format TBC.

8. REFEREES: Referees need to fully understand all rules. Teams are to alternate refereeing duties Throughout the match, home team first. The referee’s decision is final. Following a FOUL (where the white ball ends up OFF the playing surface of the table) the oncoming player may pick up the white ball and place it on the table behind the baulk line.

9. CLAIMING GAMES: The first frame should start by 8.15pm, otherwise it may be claimed. subsequent frames may be claimed at 15-minute intervals such as (i.e.: 8.30pm 8.45pm etc.). At 9.00pm match will be claimed. Average WIN frames won during the season will be awarded at the end of the season to the Team claiming the match. NO points / frame wins will be awarded to the other team. However, with this being said please remember this is a friendly league and you should try to be accommodating to team requests.

10. CONFERRING / COACHING: This is NOT allowed in any game by any person EXCEPT when playing in the Scotch Doubles or Team 4man, when it is allowed. On the first occasion (Player or Supporter) the referee must give a verbal warning to the offending Team’s player OR supporter, on a second or subsequent occasion it will result in ‘loss of frame ‘.

11. TEAMS DROPPING OUT OF THE LEAGUE: All fixtures and results will be scrubbed as though the team did not exist, those players will NOT be allowed to join another team during that current season, other than under exceptional circumstances.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO USE ANY THREATENING BEHAVIOUR, IF THIS OCCURS THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE WILL NOT BE WELCOME TO CONTINUE TO PARTAKE IN THE LEAGUE.
