Format - Main

When organizing a tournament, selecting the right format is crucial to ensuring fairness, excitement, and efficiency. Different structures cater to different needs, balancing competitive integrity, match volume, and time constraints. Below, we explore four key tournament formats: Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Groups, and Special Formats.

Single Elimination: the most straightforward and efficient tournament format. Each match is a do-or-die scenario—once a player or team loses, they are eliminated. The winners advance through the bracket until a champion is determined.

Double Elimination: extends the competition by allowing participants to lose once before being eliminated. The tournament consists of a winners' bracket and a losers' bracket. Players who lose in the winners' bracket drop to the losers' bracket, where they must win all remaining matches to stay in the competition.

Groups: a tournament that divides participants into one or multiple smaller sections, where each player or team competes against all others in their group. The most common type is Round Robin, where everyone plays against every other competitor at least once. Leagues are also part of this format.

Special Formats: Beyond these core formats, many tournaments use custom structures to fit specific needs. These special formats may blend multiple systems or introduce unique progression mechanics.
