Showman Pool Events is owned by Jimmy Carney continuing after Turtle Promotions putting there cue away.
Turtle Promotions was founded in 2007 by Mark Neylon, and joined by Jimmy Carney in 2009.
Mark’s enthusiasm originally came from a family tournament called the South Park Cup.
It was in an environment of family and friends and was on a small 5ft table (based on the format of the Willie Mosconi Cup). His enthusiasm made him start a website for it, which then brought about websites being developed for local teams and for the Essex County Team.
With his love for Blackball pool continuing to grow and the demand
for more local tournaments, he couldn’t help himself and decided to give the players what they wanted.
Jimmy Carney teamed up with Mark as he shared his enthusiasm for the game and really thought that he could bring something to the mix to make Turtle promotions a countrywide tournament promoter rather than just local. The demand is there and with their knowledge, professionalism, popularity and good organisation skills they really do make a good team.
They are always developing fresh ideas and after several Pro Am tournaments and singles leagues they really have proved what they can do.
Turtle Promotions has it’s sights set on growing and as there is always a demand for more tournaments, now is a good time to start.
Turtle Promotions aim to please and take the promoting and running of tournaments very seriously. Enjoyment is the key and as they enjoy running them as much as people enjoy playing in them, they wouldn’t have it any other way.
With around 200 Turtle promotion players playing in our blackball leagues and pro am’s we believe we are on the right road.
With our Jimmy Carney Snr Memorial Masters tournament having amazing entrants like 6 times snooker world champion Steve Davis and 1997 champion Ken Doherty the gala event has now attracted crowds of 200 on the night.
Thanks
Mark and Jimmy
