Multi-game format:
Pool Tournament Rules:

*Format and rules are subject to change with number of players or late start*

Order of play:
• Players will be seeded by computer generated random draw.
• The lowest number and highest number will be seeded into a match.
o If there is an odd number of players, then the highest odd number drawn will be giving a “walk-on / bye” game and automatically advance to the next round.
Match Play:
Determining the break:
• A lag will be done between the players to determine who will shoot first.
• If the CB is pocketed or hits the long rails, then it is an automatic loss of lag.
• Winner of Lag can choose to break or choose the game.
Match Start:
• Breaking the balls
o A legal break must be made. 0
o CB in the break box
o 3 balls must drive a rail. (CB can be included in the 3)
• A ball pocked will count as a ball driven into a rail.
o A 2nd ball break is only allowed in 8 ball formats.
o Alternate break format
o Rack your own rack – opponent not allowed to check the rack.
o ½ ball leeway on racking to get a tight rack and leeway must be above the spot.
o Break from within the break box lined on table (box line is approximately 6 inches in from side rails and runs from the head string to the head rail on both sides of the table)
o Must contact head ball first (the one ball) and 4 balls must hit a rail or you must pocket a ball.
o If an illegal break occurs the incoming player has choice of
o Playing the table as it lies.0
o Taking ball in hand in the kitchen and playing the table.
o Re-racking and breaking.
o Force the original breaker to break again. 2 illegal breaks in a row will constitute a loss of frame
o Scratch on the break, cue ball must be placed behind the head string and shoot down table and first ball contacted must be outside of the kitchen.
o If you scratch on the break it’s an OPEN table, no matter how many balls were pocketed.
• If the breaker pockets a ball and does not foul, he continues at the table, and the table remains open.
• If no object ball is pocketed, at least 3 object balls must be driven to one or more rails, or the shot results in an illegal break, and the incoming player has the option of accepting the table in position, or re-racking and breaking, or re-racking and allowing the offending player to break again.
• Playing stripes onto solids and vice versa is never allowed
• You cannot win or lose on the break with the exception of 2 illegal breaks in a row.
• If a player pockets the 8 ball on the break, they can either play the table or as lies and spot the 8 ball or choose to re-break.
If there is a foul or scratch on the break the incoming player has the same choice.

AT THE TABLE:
• A jump shot that is hit below center of CB will result in a foul and ball in hand for the opponent.
• “3 foul rule” in effect, all fouls result in ball in hand anywhere on table except a foul on the break.
• It is a call ball and call pocket game. All obvious shots do not have to be called but kicks, caroms, banks and combos should be called. But it is up to the player not at the table to ask what is being played if they do not know or the shot will be considered obvious and stand. Only the ball and pocket must be called not how the shot is executed i.e. if you shot your object ball into the opponent’s ball which is blocking a pocket, and both go in that is a good shot.
• On any illegally pocketed ball – ball in wrong pocket, accidentally pocketing a ball but not making the called shot etc. the incoming player can choose to make the offending player shoot again.

SHOOTOUT:
When playing races, the shootout will come if the race is hill/hill and this shootout must be won by 1 shot
When playing sets in a best of 3 match, the shootout will come in the 3RD set if the 2ND set reaches hill/hill
• In the finals of both events the shootout will be played if the sets are tied at the end of regulation play (2-2 or 1-1)
• In rounds 1, 2 & 3 of the main event the shootout must be won by 2 shot
• In the last 16, Quarterfinals, Semi-Finals, Finals of the main event and Finals of the challenge the shootout must be won 3 shots.

There are 5 different shots which will be marked on the table with the 8 ball always on the foot spot:

Shot 1: Will be ball in hand in the kitchen choice of foot pocket

Shot 2: Cue ball on head spot shot into the right foot pocket

Shot 3: Cue ball placed in line with the first diamond on the head rail and side rail on the right side of the table and shot into left foot pocket

Shot 4: Cue ball placed in line with the first diamond on the head rail and side rail on the left side of the table and shot into right foot pocket

Shot 5: Cue ball placed in the center of the kitchen shot into left foot pocket

Sudden death: Cue ball in the center of kitchen choice of foot pocket
