PLAYER METTING
All groups have a MANDATORY players meeting in the snooker room 15 min before the scheduled match times. If you for some reason do not make it to the players meeting you will automatically lose the lag and your opponent will have the first break. In the event that a player is late for their match they will lose the first game starting at 15 min late and a game every 7 min after that until they lose the match. OPERATION OF THE IPADS & CALLING MATCHES I will go over the iPad in the meeting however if you see a red box that says network error ignore this and hit the small half circle "refresh" button in the top right corner of the browser. if you are asked anything else hit OK or CANCLE. - you WILL need to hit the refresh button at the start of your matches, its better to learn what to do during the first match. The RACE will appear on the ipad with your name and face(face may or may not show) when the match is over you MUST enter the last game and then there is a small circle with an arrow in the bottom right hand corner hit this arrow and then a box will come up asking you if the match is over if so hit finish. The TV by the snack machines will have the bracket up, the bracket is easy to read with some effort, if you cant read it you can go on your phone and click the traditional flowchart. Matches in White are not yet started, light blue matches are active and Dark Blue means the match is over. I will often assign a table to a match in white that has not started yet, DO NOT go to the table until your match turns light blue, the table may change during this time, the table on the board when the match turns to active (light blue) is the table you will play on. RULES - different groups have different rules, make sure you're asking someone in your bracket or you wont get the correct rules or race. Some classes may make the 9 early some must go last, the flyer has this information and its posted above so make sure you know the rules and don't ask someone besides you who is playing by different rules. Race to 9 on the A side Race to 7 on the B side 9 Ball must go last and be called for a win.- if the 9 is made before it is the last ball the 9 spots immediately and the plyer keeps shooting. if the 9 is the last ball on the table and the player makes it in a pocket other than the called pocket the incoming player will have the option to shoot and the 9 will be spotted. 3 Foul Rule In Effect Push Out OK WPA sanctioned jump cues allowed(short OK- no you cant jump with just a shaft) Mandatory Magic Rack RYO 2 in the back, no pattern racking. ULTRA SOFT BREAK RULE! A total of 2 object balls must cross the side pocket or be pocketed when breaking for the break to be legal. Illegal breaks will result in a MANDATORY pushout! All ball fouls in the act of the shot, act of the shot is during and after the shot until the player is entirely away from the table. if a ball is moved before the shot the player must inform the opponent who can put the ball back where they think it was. if the player moves the ball and then puts it back on their own that will be a foul. If you suspect a shot may be a close hit the non shooting player must get someone to watch, if there is no one to watch the hit the call will go to the shooter, however MANY tables have cameras and i will check the camera to get a call right if the options is available. ETTIQUITTE There will be a HUGE emphasis on etiquette. STC rules in effect if you don't already know... Sunday will have a Referee, and myself watching closely for good etiquette. Saturday I will be the official. Breaks- 1 5 min break per player, you may only take a break during your turn. Only 1 player may take a break at a time. A players must remain at the table if a break is taken during an active game. If a player is supposed to be at the table while the opponent takes a break and something happens to the table that they were supposed to be watching but decided to step away from the table despite of the rules that game will be a loss for the player that broke the rules. ZERO talking during an active rack to ANYONE, talking during the match WILL result in a ball in hand foul. consecutive etiquette violations may result in a loss of rack or disqualification from the. Banging the table or slamming a cue WILL result in a ball in hand foul WITHOUT a warning. If you miss go to the assigned seat and remain still and respectful, don't talk to yourself about your misses, don't clean your cue, don't text, don't talk with the spectators( even while at the table shooting) ZERO cell phone use, if you want to listen to music on headphones, fine. If you need to fiddle with your music do it during your turn. If I see you texting during the other players shot it will be a foul. Obviously talking on the phone is not allowed. There is no need to move your hands or clean your cue while the other player is shooting. do not take off your glove as the player shoots the match ball or break down your cue, if you break down your cue during a match it IS a forfeit of the match. If you say things like its just not my day to win, i cant win, you go ahead and take the match. i just may forfeit you. Act like a professional or face the consequences. |
