PowerElec Event 1

Exciting times for  9 Ball on the Rock, as it sparked the first event of and 8 event season, to be crowned the Dave Jarvis Memorial League Winner. All tournaments are being held at the Europa Sports Complex.

The first event was held  last 24^th & 25^th of May. Showing a promising start to the season with an influx of players this year with a total of 27 entries competing in a double elimination format.

The  arrival of a second 9 ball table , funded by the players was  mounted just in the nick of time for the event, players and spectators alike were able to enjoy matches running in tandem on both tables creating a real buzz in anticipation around the complex.  Special thanks to Brian McGrail & volunteers for their time & effort involved in assembling the table.

As the first event of the season, players eagerly battled it out in 5 rounds, seeing Gibraltar 9 ball’s prominent players, Michael Vasquez and Jotham Olivero crossing cues in the final. In an intense & tactical race to 5 match, with Jotham leading 4-3, & Michael in his strategic gameplay, skilfully snookers Jotham with five balls remaining on the table.  Jotham gracefully plays a long double & successfully makes contact leaving Michael with a chance for a comeback. Michael on the 7^th ball, with two balls remaining to save his match, hits the knuckle leaving Jotham wide open to comfortably pot the last balls to claim the PowerElec sponsored event.

The next event will be held between 10^th to 12^th June at the Europa Sports Complex competing for the second PowerElec sponsored  Event. We hope to see you there, if you cannot make it catch it live on our YouTube channel, Gib9ball.
