Registration Day

The 2026 Aberdeen Pool Summer League begins in late May, with Registration Day at Legends (Downstairs Bar) on Saturday 2nd May between 12noon and 7pm

The one major change this year is we will be switching it from league republic to cuescore, so we have moved registration day to an earlier date so we have time to get that all set up.

There will also be a mini committee in case of any disputes, so that if anything occurs out of ordinary it’s not just me making a decision.

Team Entry will be £70 per team and must be paid by or on Registration Day to secure your teams entry.

Cash prize for winners of each group in the league stage to decide who goes through to the Gold Cup, Silver Cup and Bronze Cup

This will only be awarded to the group winners and the increase in team fees will cover the extra prize money for this whilst leaving the usual prize fund largely unaffected.  Exact payouts, as usual, depend on how many teams enter and will be confirmed once this is known.

I am also looking into awarding to cash prize to the teams that go out in the Semi Final stage of  The Gold Cup, Silver Cup and Bronze Cup.  It won’t be a huge cash prize but hope to be able to return at least the entry fee paid as a reward for reaching semi finals.

The Murdo’s Cup will continue to be payouts for Winner and Runner Up only.

The Summer League Pairs and will run exactly the same as the way it does in the ADPL Winter League.

The Summer League Singles will have a new format where the early rounds are knockout rounds which leads to a last 32 finals day which will be made up of 4 groups of 8 players (random draw the day before finals day) playing in a round robin format with top 4 from each group progressing to the last 16 knockouts.

The Summer League Scotch Doubles will also go ahead in 2026.

Any teams wishing to put their entry in before Registration Day should contact me for Bank Details and Registration form by either PM or emailing me at leagueresults@gmail.com.  Registration packs will be available from early April.

Those teams waiting until Registration Day will be able to fill in entry form on the day as well as collect a captain pack at same time.  Receipts will be available also.

Other than that, the format will remain the same with minimum of 5 man teams, played to Blackball Rules with each match 3 sets of 5 frames.

The group stage will come first with all teams playing home and away (on Tuesdays from 26th May) with 3 points for a win, based on 40 teams, there should be 8 groups of 5 teams, with teams finishing 1st and 2nd going through to Gold Cup Knockout Rounds, teams finishing 3rd and 4th going through to Silver Cup Knockout Rounds and teams finishing 5th (and 6th, depending on entries) going through to the Bronze Cup Knockout Rounds.

There is also the optional Murdo’s Bar Summer Cup which will be played on selected Thursdays.  All teams are eligible to enter and it’s included in the £70 entry fee but if you are likely to struggle for a team on a Thursday, you can opt out on Registration Form.

Entry for Summer League Pairs, Scotch Doubles and Singles are paid separately and an entry form will be included in each captains pack.

I hope that gives a rough idea of how it will work and I have will add a provisional schedule to give you an idea of the dates soon.

The Summer League is an ideal opportunity for any new teams and venues to get an idea of how competitive pool works in a usually more fun environment ahead of the ADPL Winter League.

The main date for now is Saturday 2nd May for  team registration at Legends from 12noon to 7pm. All teams must be registered by 7pm on 2nd May 2026
